Andrew S. Abend President M Is For Marketing
Abend started M Is For Marketing to help companies reach their business goals through more effective positioning, and to maximize how they market this position at every point of contact with their audience.
Abend brings 15+ years experience in branding, account planning, research and advertising for a wide range of companies – from $500,000 start-ups to billion-dollar corporations. He is known for matching client wants with audience needs and distilling those thoughts into insightful, actionable strategy.
As a company's consumer advocate, Abend always puts the audience needs first. He gains consumer understanding through a variety of market research and account planning techniques that help identify undeniable consumer truths. He then matches these insights with a company’s business and marketing objectives to determine the most effective brand position and messaging.
He has done this most recently for several clients – All-in Chips, BISYS, Centex Homes, Delta Community Credit Union, Hamilton State Bank, Highwoods Properties, and InComm – while co-founder of an advertising agency Abend & Moore.
Prior to Abend & Moore, Abend was Account Director at EAI where he led the branding and corporate communications efforts for Accenture and Dow Jones & Co. He also helped brand companies such as Orkin Pest Control, UUNET/MCI Worldcom, Eaton Corporation, and Delta Air Lines while working at J. Walter Thompson, JWT Tech (formerly Donino White & Partners), Sawyer Riley Compton and BBDO.
Abend is a member of Vistage (formerly The Executive Committee (TEC)), BBA Leadership Development and Imagine It – The Children’s Museum of Atlanta’s marketing committee and was quoted in the June issue of Entrepreneur Magazine.
He holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis, has two young boys and has been married for 11 years. |
